The picturesque Lycian coast in Turkey is known for a lovely climate and enables you to experience an active Bike & Boat holiday. This area of great natural beauty also contains a lot of cultural highlights like the ancient town of Kaunos, the Carian Tombs near Dalyan, and the Greek ‘ghost town’ of Kayakoy.
Routes and bikes
Each day two enthusiastic cycle tour leaders will guide you across the peaceful inland with intimate villages and lots of fruit plantations. You will be riding an all terrain bike with 21 or 27 gears or a trekking bike, both perfectly suitable for this terrain as not all roads are properly paved. Sometimes you have to do a bit of climbing. All routes can be done easily if you have an average physical condition. After the cycling trip it’s a great feeling to come home at the ship.
More than just cycling
Before the skipper raises the anchor and leaves for a next pretty bay, you will sure first take a cooling dip into the refreshing azure coloured water! Take stroll in the picturesque harbour of Gocek, visit the ruins of Cleopatra’s bath, half hidden by the sea.
During this Bike & Boat holiday you get acquainted with the renowned Turkish hospitality. You may also try some tasteful regional dishes and even take a traditional mud bath.
Cruising, the ship
You will stay on a 30 meter long gulet, a wooden Turkish sail ship. On board there is room for 14 guests. Who all have a 2 person cabins, most with double beds Some with Twin beds. All cabins are provided with an all in one toilet and shower with wash basin.
For common use there is a sun deck with 14 mattresses and an aft with a large dining table where we use our meals. Inside are a lounge and an open plan kitchen where you can enjoy seeing the cook prepare a variety of delicious meals.
